The thing about getting locked into a serious collection is trying to restrain yourself in acquiring EVERYTHING.
The thing about stealing things is also RESTRAINT in trying to steal EVERTYHING – so-much-so that your ill-gotten collection can be seen from space.
This is the intersection of hording and theft where one U.K. bike thief lives.
Police in England raided a 54-year-old guy’s house this month after they got a tip he might be in possession of some stolen bicycles. And it wasn’t just a few bikes either, it turned out he had so many of them you could see the pile (numbering in the hundreds) completely filling his backyard that could actually be see from SATELLITE images on Google Maps/Earth.
He’s facing charges for possession and handling of stolen goods. Cops have now started the process of trying to track down all the owners which I believe would be the perfect punishment for him. Let him track down the rightful owners… ride the bike over… return it to them and then walk back home.
Ride, Return & Repeat hundreds of times.
Here’s what the stolen bike stash looks like from Google Earth.
