Fox Valley Bike Sale

March, 18 2017

Location:
Sunnyview Expo Center Oshkosh

Event Description:
The Oshkosh Cycling Club will hold its fifth annual Fox Valley Bike Sale, aka The Swap, on Saturday, March 18th, 9am to 3pm at the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh.

Bargain hunters will find deals on new and used bicycles of all types (Fat, Tri, Mountain, Road, Vintage, Triathlon, BMX, Comfort, Cruisers, Kids...) for all ages, plus cycling gear, parts, tools, trainers, clothing, and accessories from private sellers and these local cycling shops: Wheel & Sprocket Oshkosh, Wheel & Sprocket Online, Winnebago Bicycle, Cranked Bike Studio, and Scheels. A clothing designer than features unique bike designs, the Wisconsin Bike Fed and Digi2Life, an engineering and 3D printing company, will be there, too. Selling opportunities abound as well.

Anyone with a bike to sell can place it in the secured Bike Corral the morning of the event for just $10 and $5 each additional bike. Payment can be made ahead online at oshkoshcyclingclub.com/bikeswap or at the event. Sellers also may rent a table, an expo-style booth, or a larger space. Pricing is available online and spaces must be paid in advance. The event also serves as a bike donation drop-off site for St. Vincent de Paul in Oshkosh.

Food and beverages, including locally brewed beer from Oshkosh's newest brewery and event sponsor Bare Bones Brewery, will be available for purchase at the Feed Zone. Visit www.barebonesbrewery.us for a list and description of the brewery's offerings. Free educational sessions on bike fit and how to train with power will be made throughout the day. New this year charity rides are able to promote their events for a minimal table fee. Information on Winnebago County’s BikeOsh and Meet in the Middle ride will be available along with other local events.

*Admission to this fundraiser is just $5 for adults, $3 for students with ID, and free for kids 12 and under.
*Pay at the door (cash only) or in advance online at oshkoshcyclingclub.com/bikeswap.
*Parking is free.
*All event proceeds will support Oshkosh bicycling advocacy.
*The Sunnyview Expo Center is easily accessible from Highway 41, about a mile east of the Jackson Street exit, at 500 East County Road Y (also called E. Sunnyview Road).

The Oshkosh Cycling Club is a group of cycling enthusiasts who share the club's mission to educate the cycling public through development, organization, and promotion of safe bicycling events, programs, and opportunities in and around the Oshkosh cycling community. Ways in which the club has made a community impact include installing bike repair stations, trail clean-up and funding, and providing input for the Oshkosh Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.

In 2017 the club plans to build a pump track which is a series of gently oscillating mounds of dirt that make it easy for young riders and riders with strider bikes to learn to ride. The club also plans to build single track for mountain biking locally. If you come buy a bike at the sale it will help create great opportunities to ride a the same time. More information about the event, the club, weekly rides, and outreach is available at oshkoshcyclingclub.com. Or like their FB Page for regular updates.
