In a recent interview with Forbes, Dave Grohl was asked who the dream band/ person that he would like to play drums for is. Dave’s response:
“AC/DC. That’s my last one, that’s it. Phil Rudd is back though. If you dive back into their back catalog, that early s**t, there was a little bit more dynamic, then they settled into the groove. That’s the thing. And it’s because of Phil Rudd. It’s AC/DC, but that guy holds the key.”
It was on this day (11/6/14) four years ago that Rudd was arrested for “threatening to kill” and “drug charges.” And it was less than a year after the arrest the Rudd told Rolling Stone Magazine that he would be back in the band. Don’t forget back in August when Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd were photographed in Vancouver, on the patio of Warehouse Studio where AC/DC have recorded their last 3 albums.
There’s been no official statement from the AC/DC camp so who knows how true this is. Guess we’ll have to wait and find out.
