No time for losers, ’cause we are the champions… of the Globes!
The accolades for Queen’s bio-pic Bohemian Rhapsody continued Sunday night at the Golden Globes, where the film won the award for Best Motion Picture-Drama. The star, Rami Malek, also won Best Actor in a Motion Picture-Drama for his portrayal of the late Freddie Mercury.
In his acceptance speech, Malek thanked Queen — specifically guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor, who served as consultants on the film and were at the Golden Globes — and Mercury for, well, being Freddie Mercury. Before taking the stage to accept the award, Malek hugged May, who was seated next to him in the audience.
May and Taylor joined Malek and the cast and crew on stage to celebrate the Best Picture win.
