Do NOT shove fireworks in your manhole.
That is not a euphemism.
Surveillance cameras caught a kid in China dropping lit fireworks into the vent of a manhole cover. In case you’re unfamiliar, that hole leads to the sewer… which is filled with methane gas from everyone’s poopings. Fire + Methane = Explosion. And that explosion sent the cover and big chunks of the sidewalk into the air. Fortunately, the kid ran away just in time and nobody was hurt.
I’d recommend a replacement from Neenah Foundry.
