Today, May 31st, would have been Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham’s 71st birthday.
Robert Plant, who became friends with Bonham in 1966 and was responsible for getting him to join Led Zeppelin, recently posted a photo of himself visiting the statue of Bonham in Bonham’s hometown of Redditch, England.
The statue was unveiled last year on what would have been Bonham’s 70th birthday and is emblazoned with the words: “The most outstanding and original drummer of his time, John Bonham’s popularity and influence continue to resonate with the world of music and beyond.”
