Oshkosh is the only local school district using a full fleet of propane-powered buses.
Executive Director of Business Services Sue Schnorr says it’s cleaner. She says you don’t have to deal with the diesel fuels when the buses are idling, and that’s better for kids and the environment.
Dan Kobussen of Kobussen Buses says they’re also more cost-effective since the price of diesel fluctuates more than propane. He says they’re looking into other alternative fuels to use for buses in the future.
