There’s a search for a python at the start of the year at Fond du Lac High School.
Principal Matt Steinbarth says the non-venomous snake got out of its cage in a science classroom last week. He says it got into the duct work of the special ventilation system that they use for certain chemicals. Crews are taking apart the ventilation system to get the snake.
Steinbarth says a biology teacher brought the ball python to the school. He says when ball pythons get scared or nervous, they roll up into a ball to protect their head. He says it’s not a dangerous snake to humans, and that explanation is helping students and parents that are worried about it.
