Appleton’s city clerk is unsure about the turnout for today’s election.
Clerk Kami Lynch says they didn’t see a lot of early in-person voters or absentee ballots. She thinks it’s important for people to vote because these are the people voters should contact with questions or issues.
There are about 5,300 registered voters in districts 6 and 15. People can vote at their regular polling places from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Lynch says the special election also gives them a chance to do a trial run of electronic voting machines. The city plans on buying some next year.
