Investigators think a problem with a railroad crossing was a factor in a head-on crash earlier this week, north of Appleton.
Outagamie County Sheriff’s deputies say a tire blew on a van at a crossing on Highway A, and the driver hit an oncoming car. Two men were seriously hurt.
Canadian National Railroad crews worked on the tracks for several hours after the crash.
The crossing is south of Highway S in the Town of Center.
