Two new fishing platforms are now open along the Wolf River in Winneconne.
They stretch out over the river from each shoreline, and they’re 220 feet long and about 20 feet wide.
DOT Project Manager Bill Bertrand says they built them, after the old bridge over the river was replaced. He says they’re the largest in the state, and they’ll provide opportunities for people to fish in the downtown, into the future.
The platforms are by the location of the old bridge. The new one opened last year.
The old lift bridge was closer to the water, and people could fish off of it. The new one is higher, so boats can pass underneath it.
