Congressman Sean Duffy from northern Wisconsin is leaving office today.
The Republican is stepping down from the seventh district seat because his family is having a baby with health issues. Duffy says he doesn’t regret his decision, but it was still tough to make.
Duffy says a lot of members of Congress are really nice, whether they’re Republicans or Democrats, and he’s built some good friendships.
Duffy has been in Congress for 8-1/2 years.
Governor Evers is ordering a special election on January 27th. If there’s a primary, it’s scheduled for December 30th.
