The Oshkosh Common Council is scheduled to vote tonight to create a new TIF district for the former Pioneer Inn property.
Developer Art Dumke is looking to build a marina house, short-term rental condos, and a possible water park on the site.
City Manager Mark Rohloff says it would be a “pay as you go” TIF, with the developer paying up front, and the city providing money later.
The total amount promised by the city could reach $29 million on a $50 million project.
The Oshkosh Fire Department is looking to make some staffing changes. Rohloff says a consultant’s study recommends more civilians be added to the department, to take on non-emergency duties.
The city will actually save money on health insurance for its employees next year. Rohloff says Robin Health Partners has come in with a very attractive package.
The lower health insurance rates will save the city $592,000 next year.
The Oshkosh Common Council is expected to vote on the new carrier tonight.
