Child advocates say teaching kids about sexual assault in elementary school is effective.
A proposed state law would require all school districts to have a program.
Becca Wilbershide of the Willow Tree Cornerstone Child Advocacy Center provides that service in Green Bay schools. She says students do learn from it, and she’s seen some of them come forward.
Schools would have to work with an outside agency like Willow Tree, or use a program developed by the state Department of Public Instruction.
