If debate on a new U.S. Venture headquarters in downtown Appleton drags on, the company’s CEO doesn’t have a timeline right now for deciding whether to actually move forward.
The city council is going over financing options for the public parking ramp that would be the foundation for the building.
John Schmidt says their focus is on going downtown. He says they do have about 50 workers off-site right now, and that is presenting some challenges.
The cost of the ramp jumped to nearly $35 million. The plans call for the city’s parking utility to pay for it using parking fees, and not any property tax dollars.
