Next year’s proposed budget for the City of Appleton is out.
Mayor Tim Hanna wants to cut the property tax rate by 82 cents, to $8.34 in Outagamie County. The city reassessed every home, and that’s a big reason for the drop.
The plan calls for spending nearly $191 million.
Hanna says there aren’t any major changes with the city’s day-to-day operations. He says they typically bring any of those ideas to the city council throughout the year.
Property owners would pay $834 for every $100,000 of value.
The budget does include funding for a parking ramp for the U.S. Venture headquarters. There are also more future projects in that area, including a new library that would open in 2023.
