The top Democrat in the Senate thinks politics will get in the way of a proposal to legalize medical marijuana.
Senate Minority Leader Jennifer Schilling of La Crosse blames Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald’s run for Congress. She believes the proposal will never come up for a vote because Fitzgerald would have to take a stance.
Schilling is also frustrated by a lack of action this fall, calling the Republican-controlled Senate a “do-nothing body.” She says they were scheduled to be in session for three weeks in September, and they didn’t meet at all.
This month, Schilling says Republicans have picked out one day to meet so far, and there are two weeks on the schedule.
Schilling was on Fresh Take with Josh Dukelow on WHBY this morning.
