The families of police officers and EMTs killed in the line of duty will be able to keep their health insurance coverage.
Governor Evers is signing a bill that guarantees the benefits will continue until spouses are 65, and children are 26. He says it’s the least the state can do.
Communities will be reimbursed after paying for the premiums.
The families of fallen firefighters are already covered. Lawmakers made that change, after Green Bay firefighter Arnie Wolff died in 2006.
