Kaukauna is holding a special referendum tomorrow on the city’s clerk-treasurer position.
Finance Director William Van Rossum says a committee recommended asking voters whether the job should be split into two, and if people should be elected or appointed. The mayor and city council would hire the clerk and treasurer, if they would be appointed.
Van Rossum says the committee believes the job is too big for one person to hold.
People can vote in tomorrow’s referendum at the city’s municipal services building. The hours are from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
