There are plans for a $144 million specialty hospital in Appleton, and it would be one of the largest projects in city history.
ThedaCare, the Neuroscience Group, and the Hand to Shoulder Center are partnering on the facility.
Mayor Tim Hanna says the significance of the hospital goes beyond the numbers. He says patients will benefit by being able to see different doctors at the same place. He also believes it’s great for the community to have different health care providers coming together to work on a project.
The hospital will specialize in orthopedic, spinal, and pain management treatments. It will be next to ThedaCare’s Encircle Health and Regional Cancer Center on the northeast side.
