There’s a new twist to a proposal to build a parking lot next to the City Center in downtown Appleton.
Appleton Downtown Incorporated Executive Director Jennifer Stephany says there’s enough private funding to pay for the $90,000 project. She understands putting a new surface lot in the downtown isn’t always the best idea, but it makes sense now.
She says they need to find a solution to the access issue around the City Center.
The municipal services committee will take up the proposal next week.
The lot would be on the former Washington Place building site. It would be removed, if a developer comes forward with a project.
Stephany says Appleton Downtown Incorporated wouldn’t be contributing to the lot. The management company for the City Center would handle the maintenance.
