When the state Capitol Christmas tree goes up it will be a “holiday tree” again.
Governor Evers is calling it that bringing back an old battle over the official name. Politicians started saying it was a holiday tree back in 1985.
For the past eight years, under former Republican Governor Scott Walker it was a Christmas tree. That angered the Madison-based Freedom from Religion Foundation.
Evers is picking “Celebrate Science” for this year’s theme. He wants schoolchildren will make science-related ornaments.
