The next phase of the Eagle Point development along the Fox River in Appleton will be a memory care facility.
The city council is changing the development agreement with The Alexander Company. The 28-unit project is expected to be valued at $5.1 million. That’s $3 million more than the initial plans that called for housing.
Community Development Director Karen Harkness says things changed after the first phase was finished. She says the developers realized there’s a need for more memory care units when they opened the assisted living facility.
There’s still more room for a third phase.
The development is on the site of the former Foremost Dairy plant, and it’s part of a TIF district. The city will provide incentives of up to $1.275 million for the memory care facility.
