A proposal to put two traffic circles along an Appleton street is a bit of a test on whether they’ll force drivers to slow down.
The city could build them at two intersections along Glendale Avenue, between Richmond and Mason streets.
Traffic Engineer Eric Lom says the cost to build them would be minimal, because there isn’t any concrete in the middle of them.
He says the city would also look at the impact on snow plows, and figure out how much time city staff spends on routine maintenance work. He doesn’t think they’ll build any more, until they get those answers.
The municipal services committee is unanimously recommending the proposal to the city council.
