Ice fishermen are getting an early start to the season but some experts say that’s not safe.
Don Herman of Sunk? Dive and Ice Rescue says there’s about a half an inch of ice on Lake Winnebago but there are some holes as well.
He thinks there’s about three inches of ice on the bay but feels there needs to be at least four inches to be safe.
Herman says it’s unusual to see ice fishing start before deer hunting.
