Pete Townshend of The Who has taken part in a bit for the UK’s Radio X in which he answers his “most Googled questions.”
The questions include:
- Are The Who mod? (“No.”)
- Who is The Who’s drummer? (Ringo Starr’s son “Zak Starkey,” who Pete explains was given his first set of drums by the band’s original drummer, Keith Moon.)
- Are The Who and The Guess Who the same band? (“You bloody idiot. Of course they’re not.”)
- What is Pete Townshend’s novel, The Age of Anxiety, about? (“Well you have to buy the novel and read it…”)
He also talks about the easiest guitar to smash on stage, his Instagram account, his hearing loss, and The Who’s tour, which, he says if you plan to go, “don’t plan to spend less than 3,000 quid ($3,800) otherwise it’s really not worth coming.”
If you’ve got that kind of money lying around, The Who will be back on the road touring the U.K. in March.
