The “Eileen” from the “We Love Eileen” sack celebration during last Sunday’s Green Bay Packers game realized the message was for her, once she saw it.
Eileen Brooker lives in California, and her son, Ben, is a locker room attendant for the team. She was diagnosed with a rare form of bone marrow cancer in September.
Going into the game, she had no idea linebacker Za’Darius Smith had the message on a shirt, underneath his jersey.
Eileen tells our partners at Action 2 News that she grew up in the Green Bay area, and Ben took her love for the Packers and brought it to a new level.
Ben is in his first year working for the Packers. He wrote the message on the shirt, and Eileen says she recognized his handwriting right away.
