Nearly 200 soldiers from an Appleton-based Wisconsin Army National Guard unit were reunited with their families today.
The soldiers are part of the 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry and there were welcome home ceremonies for them this afternoon, at Camp Douglas in western Wisconsin. The group arrived at Fort Bliss, Texas from Afghanistan, almost two weeks ago.
Capt. Joe Trovato says families are also getting help through the transition.
About 200 soldiers are still at Fort Bliss, after they returned to the U.S. last weekend. Trovato says they all left one year ago today to provide security in Afghanistan.
