The general manger of the Fox Cities Mall in Grand Chute says store owners tell him sales are going great this Black Friday.
John Burgland says owners are reporting a slower start yesterday, before things picked up later in the day. He says more than half of the mall’s stores opened on Thanksgiving.
He says visions of people fighting for deals on Black Friday are a thing of the past, because of the evolution of the retail industry. He believes it’s a calmer experience, compared to a frenzied one.
Burgland thinks people are buying for themselves, as much as they’re buying for others.
