The numbers are down considerably in the just-completed gun-deer hunt in Wisconsin. The DNR reports 161-thousand whitetails were harvested over the nine-day season. That is down by 25-percent from last year. Big Game Ecologist Kevin Wallenfang says the weather played a big part in that. Buck numbers were off by 29-percent this year–while the antlerless harvest was down by 21-percent.
