Oshkosh police say a school police officer shot a student with a weapon at Oshkosh West High School.
Officer Kate Mann says the student confronted the officer with the weapon, and the officer shot the student. The student and the officer were both hurt and taken to local hospitals.
Only one student was hurt.
Police were called to the school just after 9:15 a.m.
Oshkosh West is locked down, and parents can be reunited with their children at Perry Tipler Middle School.
The state justice department is investigating, because it was a police shooting.
The Oshkosh Boys and Girls Club is opening the Teen Center at 11 a.m. to give students a safe place to go.
