After the band members have been hinting at this for a few months, Stone Temple Pilots have announced an acoustic album filled with all original material. The album is called Perdida which is Spanish for “loss.” Guitarist Dean DeLeo says about the albums somber mood:
“You have to live it to write it, and this record is a reflection of where we’ve been recently.”
Singer Jeff Gutt:
“I had to let myself be as vulnerable writing the lyrics as Dean and Robert were writing the music.”
Meanwhile Robert DeLeo says the album is as much a musical journey as it is an emotional one:
“I’ve always loved how different instruments can accentuate a song in unexpected ways. Working with other musicians on this album was such a joy because it gave us a rare opportunity to hear our songs through someone else’s ears.”
The first single from the album is a song called “Fare Thee Well”
Perdida will be out on February 7th but you can pre-order your copy HERE. Their acoustic tour will hit Turner Hall in Milwaukee on February 19th.
