The Clintonville City Council is deciding not to take any action on closing the animal pound at this time.
City officials met last night to take up the issue.
They’re interested in closing its stray animal pound to contract with a veterinarian hospital in Clintonville.
City Administrator Sharon Eveland believes this is the right decision for the city and the animals.
The police chief says the contract will mirror what they’ve been doing.
He say the only thing that would change is the facility.
Some animal lovers think the move is bad for animals but Eveland says the veterinary hospital will do all it can to find homes for the strays.
