A roadside find and a Facebook post are helping kids at a Green Bay domestic abuse shelter.
Melissa Warburton of Green Bay spotted homemade Care Bears in a bag along Highway 172, while riding with her mother. They turned around and safely picked them up.
After posting a picture on Facebook, Warburton heard from a man whose mother made them. She says he was taking them to storage, because they moved his mother into an assisted living facility. She says his mother had been donating the stuffed animals for years.
Warburton gave them to Golden House. Every child at the shelter gets a stuffed animal.
