Donated Christmas cookies are making the holidays brighter for a Green Bay woman.
Deborah Firkins is losing her health battle, and she thinks this will be her last Christmas.
She asked someone to bake cookies for her, in an online neighborhood group, because she can’t do it herself this year. More than 20 have responded so far, and dozens more are offering their treats as well.
Firkins has had health problems since she was born, and she decided not to take steps to battle liver failure. She says she would need a transplant, and there are other candidates with better possible health outcomes.
Since she’s already received so many cookies, Firkins is asking people to make them for their neighbors in her honor.
