A slight decline in passengers at Appleton International Airport last month put an end to a long streak of growth.
November’s passenger numbers were down one percent from November of last year. That was the first time in 31 months that the monthly totals didn’t go up.
Airport Director Abe Weber says it was a great run, and they’re expecting growth next year because airlines are using bigger planes for some flights. He says the number of available seats will up up 20 percent, so they’re expecting double-digit growth in 2020. Allegiant Air is also adding a non-stop flight to Nashville, and Weber says that will also help.
For the year, passenger numbers are up almost 11 percent from 2018.
