There are calls from Assembly Democratic leaders for a first-term lawmaker to resign because of sexual harassment.
Democratic Rep. Staush Gruszynski of Marinette was elected in the 90th district last year.
Leaders say investigators found Gruszynski “verbally sexually harassed” a legislative staffer outside of the Capitol, after work hours.
They’re banning Gruszynski from meeting with other Democrats to talk about issues. He’s also losing all of his committee assignments.
Gruszynski says he doesn’t intend to resign. He says he made a “terrible mistake” after having too much to drink at a Madison bar.
