A number of organizations and businesses are coming together today to provide a holiday meal in Appleton.
Community Christmas is at the Grand Meridian, and about 1,000 people are expected.
Lynn Hopfensperger of Fox Communities Credit Union says some workers at Culver’s on Appleton’s southeast side came up with the idea several years ago. She says they asked the restaurant owner if they could help feed some of their classmates, and it kept growing from there.
Hopfensperger says they’ll have a photo booth with Santa, and games for kids.
It’s an invite-only event for the homeless, low-income families, and veterans.
