Tens of thousands of people around the Fox Cities and northeast Wisconsin were without power, including some for days, because of a storm in July.
High winds and some tornadoes knocked down trees.
It was one of the top local stories in 2019.
Wisconsin Public Service spokesman Matt Cullen says because of the extent of the damage to power lines and poles, crews had to rebuild their circuits in a number of areas.
In Appleton, some neighborhoods didn’t get power back for three or four days. The city’s cleanup costs reached at least $750,000.
There were confirmed tornadoes between the New London area and Wrightstown.
FEMA issued a disaster declaration in 17 counties in Wisconsin, including Outagamie, Waupaca, and Shawano. Communities are working with the agency, and they could be reimbursed up to 75 percent of their costs.
