Appleton police say a 37-year-old man died, less than three hours after he was initially treated for a cocaine overdose.
They say a woman asked police to come to her house in the 600 block of W. Verbrick Street on the south side around 2 a.m. today. They say her husband had a seizure, and he wasn’t breathing. The man was taken to a hospital and released a short time later.
Police say the woman called again, at about 4:45 a.m., saying the man was having another seizure, and he was being aggressive. He died at the house.
Appleton police are asking Green Bay police to handle the investigation because Appleton officers were involved in the case. Appleton police say there’s nothing to indicate any actions of an officer were a factor in causing the man’s death.
