The Salvation Army Fox Cities is about $100,000 short of the nonprofit’s $1.1 million fundraising goal.
Spokeswoman Kristal Knudtson says the numbers actually turned out better than she thought they would be. She says they won’t have to cut services or programs.
Knudtson is calling the fundraising campaign a roller coaster ride, and the late Thanksgiving was a factor. She says they got off to a good start, and then for a couple of weeks, they were seeing a deep dip in donations. Knudtson says things then got better toward the end of the red kettle campaign.
The numbers aren’t final because donations are still coming in before the end of the year.
