A high-ranking member of the New York Department of Education is in the Winnebago County jail, in connection with an Internet child sex sting.
Neenah police say David Hay was arrested yesterday at the Milwaukee airport.
The New York Times says Hay was the deputy chief of staff to the district’s chancellor. The district fired the 39-year-old after his arrest.
Hay is from Antigo, and before he moved to New York, he was a principal in the Kettle Moraine and Tomah school districts.
Neenah police say the arrest is part of an ongoing, undercover investigation.
Hay is in jail on a possible charge of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime. Police aren’t releasing any more details about the case.
