A young Neenah man’s death is giving three other people a chance to live.
Jacob Bernhardt was also known as Kobi, and he passed away the day after Christmas from complications from pneumonia. The 18-year-old had Down syndrome and autism.
His family didn’t know he signed up to be organ donor.
His mother, Rachel Bernhardt says people with disabilities have certain abilities, and people should embrace that. She says children and adults with Down syndrome can also be a life saver.
Kobi’s parents believes his smiles touched many lives. They say he loved his family, camping, and working with his dad.
