The Town of Buchanan is the latest community to come up with a way to pay for road projects.
Administrator Tony Brown says they’ll start charging a transportation fee to property owners, and it will be added to property tax bills. He says they’ll also continue special assessments, and they’re still working out those details.
The town plans to collect $875,000 a year from homeowners and businesses, through the transportation fee. Brown says they have a 10-year plan to upgrade their roads.
