If people don’t pay their parking tickets on time in Appleton, they’ll have to pay a bigger late fee.
Public Works Director Paula Vandehey says the city is raising the penalty by $10, to $25. That means a $5 parking ticket would go up to $30, if the payment is late.
She says they’re passing along an increase in the state’s fee to look up addresses, when they have to send a notice that a ticket wasn’t paid on time. They’re also recouping the costs for staff time.
Vandehey stresses that parking ticket fines are still the same, if people pay on time.
