A Green Bay music festival will be back this year, but not with the original organizer.
Pita Kotobalvu accuses the nonprofit he brought in to benefit from Rock the Dock Green Bay of stealing the name. He says he had a non-compete contract with the Appleton-based Compassionate Home Health Care.
Dawn Paradiso-Hansen is the nonprofit’s executive director, and she says Kotobalvu was in breach of the contract. She says there were requirements he didn’t meet.
Kotobalvu says he created a company with the name Rock the Dock Green Bay, and the nonprofit copyrighted it without him knowing. He says all he wanted to do was create a music festival to help nonprofits, and it’s something he worked on for several years.
Paradiso-Hansen her staff did 95 percent of the work for last year’s festival.
