Appleton school leaders might wait until November, if they’re going to hold a building referendum.
District Chief Financial Officer Greg Hartjes says board members have decisions to make, and they want to hear from the community first. A special committee put together recommendations on how to handle overcapacity issues at elementary schools.
Hartjes says the committee wants to make sure improvements are spread around to all schools, to make sure there’s equity in the district. He believes the school board agrees with that.
The different options the board will consider could cost between $88 million and $125 million.
