About 50 people wanted to be on a new City of Appleton task force on climate change.
Mayor Tim Hanna says that’s the biggest demand he’s seen for a committee in his 24 years in office. He says he was floored by the quality of the candidates, and it was difficult to choose the 12 people he’s appointing. He says that’s a good thing.
Hanna says the interest shows that people want to see what steps Appleton can take.
Two of the members are on the city council, Alds. Denise Fenton and Corey Otis.
The city hasn’t scheduled the first meeting for the task force yet.
