Town of Clayton leaders decided to start talking with Fox Crossing about water and sewer services, after already reaching a deal with Appleton.
Clayton Administrator Tori Straw says Appleton officials were OK with that, because it would work better for the region. She says the village came back to the table and asked if they could do an agreement instead, for regionalization purposes.
The town will use the village’s pipes to send sewage to the Fox West Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in Fox Crossing. The water will come from the village’s wells.
The town will pay $11.5 million. The village is agreeing not to annex the town for 10 years.
