The city might have to wait to finish a deal for manufacturing facilities or warehouses in Appleton’s Southpoint Commerce Park.
Hayden Properties wants to build a “spec,” 200,000 square-foot industrial building on one lot. In all, they’re proposing to buy four lots covering almost 50 acres for more projects.
City Economic Development Specialist Matt Rehbein says the company is asking to spread out the closings. But in six months, the city would be able to sell the remaining lots, with Hayden Properties receiving the “right of first refusal.”
Over the next three years, the city estimates the developers could invest $10 million to $40 million.
